Egos, Rules and Quitting

I noticed these three things while reading NBC's reality tv show The Apprentice 3's third episode recap and couldn't stop thinking about how it drives us.

I think everyone has some ego in both life and work/business affairs. What comes next in those affairs is the rules. There are basic guidelines either initially agreed upon or very obvious or unwritten ones that people should try to follow. Finally during the execution there will always be some catalysts or temptations to quit. Usually it's the individual's concerns or most likely peer/society pressure not to quit and see the execution to the end.

I just want to record this as understanding how life goes. I don't think this will help the contestants on the show get hired by The Donald, but rather it is important to recognize it to gain a better understanding of oneself, other people and how events play out or project how they play out.
